LA Galaxy vs Philadelphia Union
Wednesday, July 4, 2012
Home Depot Center
Kick-off: 7:30 p.m

The Galaxy’s winning streak came to an end this past Saturday as LA fell to San Jose 4-3 in another edition of the California Clasico. For the third consecutive game Landon Donovan scored for the Galaxy, but the defense wasn’t able to hold the lead and allowed three unanswered goals to leave Stanford with no points. Another busy week for the Galaxy leaves them with little time to think about the loss, as on Wednesday LA hosts the Philadelphia Union at the Home Depot Center.
Much like the Galaxy, the Union has left much to be desired in their conference. Philadelphia is currently second to last in the Eastern Conference, only above Toronto FC. Both LA and Philadelphia are coming off defeats, difference being the Union has won just three times this season. Philadelphia has won just once on the road, while LA will look to continue to turn things around at home. The Galaxy will be without midfielder David Beckham, who has a one-game suspension to serve due to yellow card accumulation. Juninho was also booked on Saturday, and is now a yellow card away from having to serve a suspension himself.
