Our defense wasn't broken but they sure could've been caught in bad positioning a couple of times against Portland.

Clasico sucked. Barca 1 goal in the last 2 against the imperialist Madrid & Russian Oligarch FC makes me nervous about Catalan advancement in ECL. I am hyped for this G's game though!

Watched from the tub in Nashville after the wife took over the telly. What a result. Saunders is a stud tonight, my friends.

Saunders did a fantastic job tonight. Can't believe the call, maybe from the Refs angle it looked foul worthy... 3 very important points well deserved.
Lopes looked a bit slow on 1 on 1's and let Cumming past him a few times. However he looked strong on headers and tackles in general.
DeLaGarza was a pleasure to watch, he really is an important part of the back line and had lots of presence and vigor.

Overall I think the Galaxy played fairly well with a few lapses and some issues with playing consistently.

I concur. We did not have the same desire and pace coming out of the half, but that is to be expected in Colorado.

Lopes was turned like a top several times & was sucked in on fakes too often, but those things will be smoothed out w/experience . . . I hope.

    Great 3 points!

Absolutely. He also saved us tonight. Good play from AJ this match.

I agree with you for the most part but you gotta give Lopes a break. We are talking about Omar Cummings, that man can spin any defender on any given day. the mans got wheels.

Cummings got the better of Lopes a few times, good thing the rest of the backline and Saunders were there to help out. Overall I think it was a good performance from the team, it may look like Buddle didn't do much but it was his run that ended up freeing Donovan in the second goal.

And I'm still looking for the foul in the pk call. I can't see it after who knows how many replays, I wonder how the ref saw it from 30 yards out..

No shutout again, but it has to be a matter of time before the team gets one.

Big 3 points on the road!
Keane was playing the 10th regular season game of his Galaxy career tonight. He has either a goal or an assist in six of those 10 games.
This was LA’s first win this season that did not finish with a 3-1 final scoreline.
    Bruce Arena:
On possession and the second half:
I think we could have done a better job with the goal. They forced us to have to defend an awful lot and Colorado came at us and it was challenging and certainly a pretty hectic closing minutes of that game with that call and everything else. Absolutely remarkable, we’re thankful we survived it. But it’s unfortunate that those kind of mistakes occur because that could have cost us dearly. These points at this time of year are important, especially in conference games so we’re thankful we got out of here with three points. We haven’t started real well so it’s important we piece some wins together.
    David Beckham:
    On the penalty kick call:
To be honest I’m probably better off not even commenting on it because I’ll get myself in trouble. That’s enough; I’m not even going to say anything. It would have been a travesty if we hadn’t won this game tonight because we were on top for most of the game. They obviously came at us second half but it would have been a travesty if we hadn’t have won it, but we did.
On the team morale after the win:
Obviously the locker room’s better now than it was two weeks ago because we’re playing as a team, were playing well, we’re winning games. We just need to continue that. This is not where it ends for us, we need to continue next week and the week after and all the way through the season. So tonight we’re happy.
    Josh Saunders:
    On stopping the penalty kick:
It’s nice to be able to come up big for your team in a time in need. We were up two to one, and that would have tied the game, so it gave us a crucial three points. Massive. It’s one of those things, you see how hard they’re working and you want to do something for them.
    Landon Donovan:
    On his goal:
Yea, I should have scored a really easy one early on. But we did a good job of using the ball well and on that play, I started on my right and got it into Robbie [Keane]. Myself, Edson [Buddle] and him took off and Edson did a good job dragging a few defenders away and Robbie got it to me and I just wanted to hit the target hard from there and it went in.

We bagged the three points and it only adds to our momentum and confidence. Great first half, flat second half. That PK call was THE WORST PK call I've ever seen!! Look at the replay and the dude that fell got up and started running back in the opposite direction as if it was just another play. The ref was still fuckin high from the night before celebrating 4/20...he was shit!! Saunders=beast!!

P.S. Go back and watch Keane's reaction to the PK save, haha!! I kept rewinding it because I didnt know what he was doing haha.

I'm really happy with how this turned out and not just because I said it would end 2-1. I think this is another boost of confidence and something that is going to give us traction to really focus and concentrate and meld as a team.
