LA Galaxy @ RSL (6/20)
LA Galaxy @ Real Salt Lake
Wednesday, June 20, 2012
Rio Tinto Stadium
Kick-off: 6:00 p.m
Viewing Party: OB’s Pub & Grill

After nearly two months without a victory, the Galaxy was able to earn three points on Sunday after defeating the Portland Timbers at the Home Depot Center. With the win, the Galaxy was able to snap the 7-game winless streak it had been carrying since the win in Colorado on April 21st. With the victory LA was able to leave the bottom of the Western Conference table, climbing to the seventh spot over FC Dallas and Portland.
On Sunday we were able to witness the return of goalkeeper Josh Saunders, who came up huge on several occasions and helped the Galaxy obtain the first shutout of the season. Despite having eleven players unavailable for the game LA managed to come out on top. Todd Dunivant scored the lone goal off David Beckham’s club-leading fifth assist of the season in the 61st minute, and the Galaxy would hold on for a 1-0 win.
The Galaxy will have little time to recover from Sunday’s game, as on Wednesday the team will face Western Conference-leading Real Salt Lake. RSL, who visited Carson to play Chivas USA on Saturday night, is unbeaten in the last seven league games played, winning five of those. At home RSL has only lost once this season, while the Galaxy have just managed to get four points out of eighteen possible on the road. When they met in the Galaxy’s home opener in March, Real Salt Lake was able to come from behind and defeat LA 3-1. After serving their suspensions, Mike Magee, Hector Jimenez, and Michael Stephens will be available for selection for Wednesday’s game. David Beckham remains a yellow card away from having to serve a one-game suspension. However, if he doesn’t receive one during Wednesday’s game he’ll have a yellow card removed from his record.
LA Galaxy:
14 points, 16 GF, 21 GA
4-8-2, 7th in Western Conference
Home Record: 3-4-1
Away Record: 1-4-1
Real Salt Lake:
32 points, 25 GF, 14 GA
10-3-2, 1st in Western Conference
Home Record: 6-1-0
Away Record: 4-2-2
THIS IS LA!

Since I finally made it to Manhattan Beach from Nashville and I'm living a block from OB's... I'll be there.

How does the yellow card system work? You get one taken away after a certain amount of time?
What's the difference between a chimichanga, a chalupa, and a tostada? Call me back asap . . . it's urgent.

5 yellow cards gets you a fine and a 1 game suspension. Once you've been suspended once, it will then only take 3 yellows to get you another suspension/bigger fine.
The "Good Behavior Incentive" takes place when a player has 4 yellow cards (one away from suspension). If the player goes 3 consecutive games without a yellow then the Disciplinary Committee will take away a yellow from the player's record. A player can only take advantage of this once a season though.

A few of us will be in manhattan.
THIS GAME IS A BIG TEST. I hate them, but they are one of the big boys of the league like it or not.
Honestly though the way we played Sunday wasn't very convincing....
