LA Galaxy vs Whitecaps FC (6/23)
LA Galaxy vs Vancouver Whitecaps
Saturday, June 23, 2012
Home Depot Center
Kick-off: 7:30 p.m

The LA Galaxy seemed to benefit from the break, and it seems like the team has started to turn things around. On Sunday the Galaxy ended their seven-game winless streak, and on Wednesday night LA defeated RSL for the first time at Rio Tinto Stadium. Landon Donovan’s brace led the Galaxy to a 3-2 win over the Western Conference leaders. After giving up two goals in the first half LA was able to score three unanswered (Donovan [2], Magee) and hold on for their second consecutive victory this week. Their busy week comes to an end on Saturday night when the Galaxy host the Vancouver Whitecaps at the Home Depot Center.
The Vancouver Whitecaps are currently third place in the Western Conference. Led by Le Toux and Hassli, Vancouver is a much more dangerous team than last year’s version, which ended last place in the conference with 28 points. Unbeaten in their last four games, the Whitecaps will be looking for their first victory at the HDC. Robbie Keane is expected to be available for Saturday’s game, as LA will try to string together their longest winning streak of the season. The Galaxy will look to finish the week with nine points out of nine available, all against Western Conference opponents.
LA Galaxy:
17 points, 19 GF, 23 GA
5-8-2, 7th in Western Conference
Home Record: 3-4-1
Away Record: 2-4-1
Vancouver Whitecaps
26 points, 18 GF, 16 GA
7-3-5, 3rd in Western Conference
Home Record: 5-1-3
Away Record: 2-2-2
THIS IS LA!

I won't be there either. I'm using my once a season wedding exemption.

I'll be there with bells on. I'm still ultra worried about our back line. I'm not going to be happy or comfortable until Omar Smash is back and fully fit.

I'm glad the back line has stepped up and Saunders in the back, however they are still weak. That is an issue but after 2 well deserved wins, hopefully this will drive the team to continue to step up and pick up a win. Vancouver has improved this year. I'm curious to see how well they're really playing and here's to hoping for a BIG win for the G's
Josh, that's me! (apparently... I like being redundant =P)

A win Saturday would do wonders for the morale of the team headed into a HUGE game next weekend in SJ. I mean, that comeback last night in RSL should have been great for the mentality of the team but a three game winning streak would have them flying high!!

Even with 3 points on Wednesday LA remains 7th on the table...LA has to get a positive result (we're all hoping for a win, that's for sure)
RSL (1) vs SJ (2)
FCD (9) vs CUSA (6)
LA (7) vs VW (3)
PTFC (8) vs SSFC (4)
With a win and a goats loss/draw LA can move to 5th place passing CUSA (18 pts) and Colorado (19 pts)...
Like Ethan said...winning 3/3 games in a week would be huge for the team's confidence heading into next weekend's game.
