    The EPL Thread (Results)

I figured since the EPL has started (after 8 billion partook in the razing of London) we should have a be all end all EPL thread. So here it is.

Consider this your glory hunting playground for posts and videos.

5 Quid to the first bastard or bastardette who posts the 672 goal hi-lights video of Manhcester United's thrashing of Arsenal.

A while back man u had beckam, scholes, giggs and butt all kids come into the team at the same time, they have another 4 come in, Barca are defo gonna have a lot tougher job when they come up against manure this season. Man U will win the league and city will finish second, the second week of the EPL AND I AM CONFIDENT OF MY PREDICTION, HOW BORING CAN IT GET. Oh and Venga might be out of a job by xmas if not earlier.

Sadly, my Arsenal have been the most recent team to finally fall victim to modern football with all their best players looking for an easy way to find glory with other teams. Not like the glory days of the 80s, 90s and early 2000s where you had great players stay with their teams until they sealed their legacy in winning honors. Just as Liverpool had a "rebuilding" year last season, Arsenal are now in their spot. If Wenger doesnt spend, spend, spend, he will be gone. EPL=English Predictability League!! That is why MLS is where its at!

I agree. When most of your drama comes in the form of offseason acquisitions and NOT on field results, it's time to sit down and figure out how to make your league more exciting. Here's the deal, the LA Galaxy are the Manchester United of MLS and NYRB are the City. However, due to cap space etc. we still have drama week in and week out. Not to mention the variable Russian roulette that is the playoffs.

The EPL has become a festering sink hole with three or four top predators devouring the rest of the league. It's an absolute shame. I used to think of it as being the absolute best league in the world. It was exciting stuff where you were more likely to win based on farming local talent, now it's turned into big money management. The rest of the EPL is simply a talent farm for the bigger european clubs.

Pox, Playoff and soccer aint going together, you cant take a full, long season and finish it with 1 lose in the playoffs, thats not sporty.

I agree, but the solution is already in place. The Supporter's Shield. The supporter's shield should be the route to put another star over your crest. It is, in my mind, the greatest trophy to strive for over the course of a year as it clearly rewards the best team over the ENTIRE year, not the streaky teams in October and November. The problem is that most people don't put any weight into it, aside from the more avid supporters.

So yes, the playoffs suck as far as rewarding the most steadfast teams, which is why it's an ancillary trophy at best, although it is currently the only cup that gives us a star. The only problem is that most MLS fans view it as THE cup. That will only change when most Americans view the supporter's Shield as THE cup.

but bro, you cant do anything about it, the EPL is the best soccer league in the world, the strongest, the most intresting one, and the one everybody enjoy, even if your saying its not excited, i acutally find that league very exciting, the MLS maybe has an intresting playoffs which makes the things looks intresting, but not more than it.
It will only change when the MLS will become more like leagues in Europe/South America, one of the main reason MLS will never get as popular as the other leagues is because the, MLS is the only Major league in the usa which aint the the best league in the world, and the most popular one in its sport (like the NBA, NHL, NFL, MLB),
another reason its like that is because soccer is a game which is built on league championship system, and not in playoffs, playoffs are for national cups, and such.
if the league directors would change the rules, make one league, with promotion/relegetion system, league table system, this league will only improve,
right now MLS is a joke in europe, no one realy knows about it exept for ppl who has american origins, and such.

Difference in opinion regarding the EPL as being exciting I guess. To me, there's nothing exciting about four clubs beating the shit out of every other club in the league. 90% of the EPL's best players play for about 4 or 5 teams. the only drama in the league is which of those 4 teams will win it all. They're just turning into a more expensive version of the SPL.

Its not a more expeensive version of the SPL, its a way better version of the SPL, the SPL has 2 strong teams, and all the others are freakin weak, Atletico and Valenica gonna suck this year and Sevillia also wont do anything.
in the EPL, u still got interest in the league in any time of the season, in england you got lots of clubs who bring interest, Aston Villa, Tottenham, Fulham, Stoke City, Sunderland, Newcastle, and more.
full stadiums all the time, and more.
this gameweek aint example for anything, its the most one-sided gameweek in years.
if you watch Stoke City - WBA and Atletico - Osasuna, which is example for mid table teams, you can see such a huge different, the midlefielders in the EPL allways moving the ball, theres lots of trys and goal attemps, and more.
i saw the game of Atletico and i felt like sleepin, no midlefield, all the game is about technique, no real soccer.

Scottish Premier League, sorry. And yes, the spanish League has become boring as well.

In my honest opinion I think that the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 are the most interesting.

Pfft Mexican League is the most interesting. Gun shots, kidnappings, and good soccer. Call me a liar! Hahaha

And Argentina. Teams are pretty equal from top to bottom.
