Portland ticket situation
I am absolutely flabbergasted at the portland FO saying they are sold out and Galaxy fans allocation is a measly 139 tickets 4 months before the game, there will be repercussions over this one, if us and LARS have bagged the allocation what about the galaxy fan who isnt associated with the SG's and just wants to go to the game with his wife and kids, there fucked. They are pulling our plonkers with these numbers, I thought there was a 500 visitors fans limit and 2 weeks before the game date any that hadnt been sold to away fans went on general sale to the home fans, honestly this issue cant be left to lie, even if we get no joy with more tickets this time it needs to be sorted out league wide going forward, wheres "THE DON" when you need him. I DESPAIR OF THIS LEAGUE SOMETIMES, HOW THE HELL HAVE YOU GUYS WHO HAVE BEEN AROUND SINCE DAY 1 STUCK WITH THIS BULLSHIT, I SALUTE YOUR STEADFASTNESS AND PATIENCE.

It's Stupid, apparently the 500 only applies to the 3 PAC NW teams.

Its complete bull. If people manage to find tickets in other sections and ninja in to 223 it might get too crowded and possibly cause problems. Hopefully both teams fo's find a way to give up more seats.
What's the difference between a chimichanga, a chalupa, and a tostada? Call me back asap . . . it's urgent.

Just to let people know, this situation is because the Timbers front office. Not our FO, not the MLS and not the Timbers Army. I am in contact with MLS operations managers and I'm waiting to hear back. That's step one.
The next step will be to ask the TA to put pressure onthe Timbers FO on our behalf. They have a ton of pull up there and may be able to help us.
After that if we still can't anything done I'll bring the situation to the attention of the Independent Supporters Council.
Even if we don't get the ticket allotment we've earned and deserve we can make enough noise to ensure that this doesn't happen again, to us or any other SG. I don't want anyone to think that nothing is happening. The fact is the Timbers FO backed us in and we had to go public with the 100 tickets right away or risk having people who have already purchased airline tickets getting frozen out of the stadium.

^ Completely understand, my blood pressure did shoot up though. But thanks to you guys letting us know right away I was able to get five tickets on stubhub. Even though I over paid by $20 a ticket at least I'll have no pressure wondering how to get in. In the end this will be a GREAT weekend getaway for all of us who go. Last night I even thought to myself " Dude even if you go to Portland, party with the gang watch the game in a pub do all the tourist stuff you're still going to have a great time so relax."
I think a good angle to use league wide would be the economic benefit to local economies when SG's role into town. As this sport grows we all know the away game travel will also. Highlight their benefit not ours. Perhaps an email to the City Chamber of Commerce might help. If 200 people roll into town and spend $300 each that's $60K injected into the locals pocket. Not a huge sum of money but nothing to sneeze at either.

Theres tickets in the actual section 223 we are in at 90 bucks which is double what were paying and tickets in adjacent section 221 for 50 bucks where people could ninja in to our section, anybody complains about ANY galaxy fan ninjaing into 223 from any part of the stadium gets a good thrashing with a wet stick of celery.
This is a real pisser this ticket bullshit cos LARS had come on board for this trip and there numbers were building steadily, Galaxy were gonna have a big following up in portlandia which would have made for an even better than usual atmosphere and the game is on nbc it was good publicity for the league, then they balls it up.Last edited by harry callahan; 03-21-2012 at 07:16 AM.

Brian, please use the stubhub ticket gouging in OUR section when you take this complaint to MLS and the ISC. That's fucking ridiculous that somehow some scumbags were able to get tickets in our section only to double their value. If ACB and Lars continued building numbers I honestly believe we could have had close to 400-500 there. 139 is Sickeningly low. Like Eric said, they fucking botched it. There could have been far above atmosphere at that game.
An exclamation one might say if one were to meet a dragon: "Draco!!!! Strectus, Strectus, Strectus. Mortimus Sum!"
Dragon!!!! Shit, Shit, Shit. I'm going to die!
